Tamarind Chutney

100 grams tamarind cleaned
100 grams jaggery or 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp black salt
1 tsp roasted ground cumin
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp dry ginger powder
10 dates (deseeded) chopped
1 tbsp raisins
1 tsp salt 2 cups water |

Wash the tamarind and soak it overnight in water. Mash and
strain it.
Put the tamarind, jaggery or sugar, salt, black salt, chili
powder, cumin powder, ginger powder and water in a vessel.
Boil for about 7-8 minutes.
Add dates and raisins. Cook further till thick enough to
coat the back of a spoon thinly.
You chutney is ready. Eat it with your favorite Sabji and
bread.
