Chandraghanta
The third aspect of Maa
Durga’s power is Devi Chandraghanta. She is
worshipped on 3rd day of Navratri. She has a
half moon (Chandra) in the shape of a
bell(ghanta) on her forehead, therefore she is
called Devi Chandraghanta. Color of her skin is
shining like that of gold. She has 10 hands and
has weapons like bow and arrow, swords etc. Her
vehicle is a lion. She is always ready to fight
battles. The sound of bells made by her is
enough to scare the mightiest and cruelest of
all demons. Third day of Durga Upasana is of
great importance. As she is ever ready to fight
battles, so she is quick to remove all obstacles
and misfortunes of her devotees. Her vehicle is
Lion, so whoever worships her becomes brave and
strong like a lion. |
