Shri Saraswati Devi have the powers of
speech, wisdom and learning. She is the goddess of knowledge
and all literary arts including music, arts, and speech. She
is mainly associated with the color white, which signifies
the purity of true knowledge. She has four arms representing
four aspects of human personality in learning; mind,
intellect, alertness and ego.
She has Vedas in one hand and a lotus
(symbolizing Absolute Truth) in the second. With her other
two hands she plays Veena representing her perfection of all
arts and sciences.
She is dressed in white (sign of purity)
and her vehicle is a Hans (Swan).
