Hindus believe that there is only one Supreme Being and all the deities (Devi Devta) represent a particular aspect of the Supreme Being. According to the Hindu scriptures, living beings are not apart from God, since He lives in each and every one of them as Soul. Each deity or Devi Devta is associated with a 'vehicle', a bird or animal on which it travels. The vehicle also represents the close relationship between all living things.
